  GTA 6 Rumors
Posted by: Darth-Apple - July 5th, 2020 at 5:00 AM - Forum: Other Games - Replies (4)

For years, the gaming community has speculated the approximate date of GTA V's successor. To no avail, we've attempted to predict the next generation, all while enjoying GTA 5's remarkable success. Finally, rumors are spreading that the GTA 6 development has begun a couple short months ago.

Personally, I think we're still a couple years out from its arrival. GTA V has been incredibly successful and is a fantastically well-designed game. It will be interesting to see where they take the next generation. Hopefully it won't take away from the spirit and character of the current game, as the 5th generation has a lot of nuances and easter eggs that have helped to make it the game that it is.

What are your thoughts? Are you looking forward to the 6th generation, or is the 5th generation pristine, beyond reproach or improvement?

  Cooking with Wine
Posted by: Darth-Apple - July 5th, 2020 at 4:48 AM - Forum: Lifestyle - Replies (2)

I just got done grilling for the 4th. I tried out a new experiment: Grilling with Bourbon wine. Alcohol is supposedly an interesting component of cooking. Wines are usually used for flavor, and the alcohol itself burns off. They also affect the cooking process. Alcohol can cause proteins to denature somewhat, so it essentially aids in the "cooking" even without heat.

Anyway, my hamburgers were soaked with Bourbon red wine for about 45 minutes before they ever hit the grill. It added a nice flavor to the final patties as I took them off. It was an interesting experiment that caused them to cook a little differently, but it worked out pretty well. I will say my wine choice could have been better. Next time I'll try something a little sweeter.

Have you guys ever cooked with Wine before? If so, how did you use it in the kitchen?

  Happy 4th of July
Posted by: Darth-Apple - July 5th, 2020 at 4:44 AM - Forum: Current Events - Replies (11)

Despite all of the events that are surrounding us, we're still celebrating it in my town. No official firework shows are available (coronavirus risks), but a lot of my friends are taking it into their own hands and shooting fireworks in my own apartment neighborhood. There are quite a few of them, and a lot of the "amateur" shows are fantastic, even better than many of the official ones over the years.

How are things shaping up for you guys?

  Advertisers Boycotting Facebook
Posted by: Darth-Apple - June 29th, 2020 at 4:24 PM - Forum: Current Events - Replies (1)

Twitter has taken steps to actively label and censor the president’s tweets (which are usually written in jest and often off the mark). Facebook has historically been much more lenient and has not taken action. Now advertisers are boycotting them.

I was shocked when I first saw twitter censoring his tweets and flagging them, but it has begun to set a precedent for other platforms to follow. Facebook has started aggressively fact checking posts (a move that was needed badly much sooner than it had arrived), and social media is generally cracking down on misinformation.

What are your thoughts on Facebook’s handling of the current events?

If you could be born in a different time period
Posted by: Darth-Apple - June 27th, 2020 at 12:30 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (8)

So here's an interesting one. We have members from all different generations here on the community, so I'm very curious to see what people's thoughts are here.

For me, it would be the 70s, only because I'd be in high school during the 80s. I've always been a big fan of the 80s, personally.

If you could be born in a different time era, which would you choose, and why?

  Coronavirus Mask Laws
Posted by: Darth-Apple - June 26th, 2020 at 1:25 PM - Forum: Current Events - Replies (4)

What are the mask laws in your area or country?

Here, it depends on the state or city primarily. In North Carolina, it’s required, but a lot of people are refusing to wear them. (People here don’t like being told what to do Finna )

What are the laws where you live?

  Makestation Fire / Ocean Themes
Posted by: Darth-Apple - June 25th, 2020 at 10:44 PM - Forum: Announcements - Replies (7)

Hello everyone,

We're working on some new mockups design wise. Currently, we have Makestation Light and Monokai (Makestation Dark). I'm working on a third variant with a non-blue color scheme. This one will be called "Makestation Fire."

It's a work in progress. We're looking for feedback, and more tweaks will be done in the coming days. Smile

And don't forget that we will eventually have a color selector built into the light theme as well. Currently, Monokai has a beta accent color if you're looking to try it out! (Courtesy of Lain) Cool

Makestation Fire (beta):

Makestation Ocean:

This is a backport of our 2015 theme, built upon the modern responsive template set. You can access it under "Makestation 2015" or "Makestation Ocean" in the theme selector.

Core T7 and Station Green will be removed soon! They are based on old template sets. We can very easily backport them if ever needed in the future.

Might need to see an ENT
Posted by: Darth-Apple - June 24th, 2020 at 11:44 PM - Forum: Lifestyle - Replies (17)

I hurt my voice several years back. I was very sick for several months straight, and even after getting well, it almost a year for my voice to fully recover.

Ever since, I've had some trouble. I've become good at working around it and it has improved over time. However, just a few weeks back, it has taken a turn for the worse. It hurts to talk. I've lost range and stamina. I do singing lessons for hours at a time, and I've had to reschedule them and haven't been able to teach them because of my voice problems.

Not really sure what it could be. Undecided

They're saying it could be a vocal cord hemorrhage (rupturing a blood vessel on the vocal cords), but healing these either requires surgery or weeks of complete, total silence. Neither of which is really an option. In which case, I'll be having issues for months before I'll even be close to being back to normal. If it's not a hemorrhage, it could be nodules or otherwise, but that's unlikely given that I am very careful to avoid techniques that cause those.

I talk heavily for my job, so hopefully it's able to hold up. I'll find out in a couple weeks I suppose.
