What desktop environment/Window manager do you use?
Posted by: Gmdykfuiygh66476 - May 25th, 2013 at 2:07 AM - Forum: Software - Replies (16)

As I've said before, I'm using Xfce D/E. But in the category of window managers, I like OpenBox (I've considered using CrunchBang Linux before) and ratpoison. What do you use? And you had better not say unity Tongue

  Favorite rock bands
Posted by: Darth-Apple - May 25th, 2013 at 12:32 AM - Forum: Media & Entertainment - Replies (19)

Personally, rock is one of my favorite music styles. I can listen to it all day, and it never gets old. My favorite bands have to be Triumph, red, linkin park, Rush, Bon Jovi, AC/DC, and probably several others I can't remember off the top of my head.

What are your favorite rock bands?

  AMD or Intel
Posted by: Darth-Apple - May 25th, 2013 at 12:25 AM - Forum: Technology & Hardware - Replies (39)

There has been quite a bit of fierce competition between AMD and Intel over the past years. Intel tends to build higher-performance processers, but AMD has lower prices and has been the leader in other ways, as they made 64 bit a mainstream technology and just recently have come up with the concept of the APU.

Personally, I use an AMD because it's cost-effective. What's your preference?

  New board layout
Posted by: Darth-Apple - May 24th, 2013 at 3:57 PM - Forum: Announcements - No Replies

It's only two days after launch, and we're already seeing great activity here at Makestation, thanks to are awesome members here. In response, I've rearranged some of the boards to try and integrate the showcase center more with the rest of the discussions here. My hope is that the new layout will be more descriptive and that the changes will ultimately make the showcase boards feel more like the rest of the forums. We've also created the project journal's section, where you can showcase any projects that you are working on to the community.

If you have any comments, suggestions, etc..., feel free to drop a reply in this thread. We're open to hearing your feedback about the current layout. Big Grin

  Web browser preference

I think many computer nerds are beyond thankful that internet explorer isn't the only option for web browsers out there. I personally use Firefox. What's your preference? Be sure to vote in the poll!

  Origin of your username
Posted by: Darth-Apple - May 23rd, 2013 at 3:57 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (37)

This is pretty self explanitory. Just share the origin of your username, why you chose it, etc...

I got the idea for mine from the coadmin of hardwiredgoogle.com, as he went by darth-android. Despite being a google fansite, I decided to join in and went by darth Apple. I've been using that username at many sites since.

What the origin of your username?
