Alright Mint gurus!
For the past 6 hours or so I have been trying to get the Belkin F9L1109v1 USB adapter to work. I have installed drivers provided by Realtek, found here, and went through the process of make -> make install -> sudo modprobe 8812au -> reboot. However, the OS still does not recognize the adapter. I'm not sure if Linux gurus are plentiful around here, but if you can, please help!
Many thanks!

I recently launched an online community for video creators, meaning people who make and upload online video on sites such as YouTube, Vimeo, Metacafe, DailyMotion, Veoh...
It is mostly centered on YouTube, because it is the most used platforms for vloggers, gamers, comedians etc.
If you are interested in promoting your online videos, youtube channels, collaborating with other people with similar interests, joining a partnership network and earning money from your videos etc. then feel free to sign up at:
http://www.amazingforums.eu
If you have any friends on social networks who are youtubers, recommend them to sign up on my community.
Thanks for your time.

A new portal? |

Makestation is nearing 5,000 posts, and I figured it'd be a time to bring in some new features. A few things have already been confirmed, and I was thinking about potentially bringing on a portal as the homepage and having something much better designed as well. Also, we'd have a much more advanced "spotlight of the day" on the portal, and perhaps some other new community-based features as well. The goal is to make the portal as useful as possible.
What are your thoughts/ideas for the portal?

Is online video making a form of art? |

YouTube has exploded in the past few years with thousands of content creators who make all sort of creative videos that sometimes tend to reach hollywood-quality...
Do you consider online video making a form of art? Can it be included in the same branch as cinematography?
