  Your Cup of Tea?
Posted by: Guardian - July 30th, 2017 at 3:24 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (3)

Seeing as to how we went way off topic in the Hydration thread, right about here, it warranted enough to start another conversation.

So, let's have it. What's in your cup of tea?

Obviously there are tons of blends in each category, but if I listed them all we would be here for days. Vote for your favorite, then share your preferred blend if applicable.

  Technomancy
Posted by: SpookyZalost - July 8th, 2017 at 8:11 AM - Forum: Current Events - Replies (9)

so... technomancy, literally Technological Diviniation if the name is to be translated correctly.
but basically, a mastery and knowledge of technology, usually information technology, to the point that the user seems to be performing magic.

would a technomantic wizard be someone who's just really good with tech or some sort of magic, or something else.

Thoughts?

personally I think it's someone who's transcended being a mere hacker to do really crazy stuff with technology.

people like ben heckendorn, Steve Wozniak, or some of the people out there who are really good at re-purposing things to do more than they were designed for if their technological knowledge is high enough anyway.

so yeah, what do you guys think? what separates a technomancer from a hacker/really skilled programmer?

do you install your own car upgrades?
Posted by: SpookyZalost - July 4th, 2017 at 3:59 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (1)

so I just got through upgrading my car radio, because of the way my car setup I had to take out the combo AC/Radio unit and drop $260 on a new AC and radio unit which were separate, it was tedious but personally I feel like it was worth it.

mostly because the end result was awesome!

CB radio to be mounted below the radio later.

so what do you guys think? do you prefer to have someone install it or would you be willing to actually install it yourself, wire soldering and all?

Hello Everyone and welcome to ZORK: The Underground Empire, the rules are simple.
once per day I will update the game log and map depending on the decisions everyone makes, Majority wins.
there will be an inventory list kept in the opening post.

note: not all posts are direct actions, so feel free to discuss what you think might be the best move to make next before the next action is picked.

the map will update as you explore.

Red dot = your position on the map

EDIT: if however no updates are made a random choice will be made, not all of them will progress the game.

Holy Penguin Cyborgs Batman! Deus Ex on linux!
Posted by: SpookyZalost - June 25th, 2017 at 9:42 PM - Forum: Other Games - No Replies

so I may be coming late to the party but I was looking over the steam sales and was pleasantly surprised to find that just 15-16 years after the previous attempt we finally have a deus Ex title on linux!

yeah that's right, Deus Ex mankind divided has a linux native port which you can download and play on steam!

now the last time this was tried was with the original Deus Ex which was released sometime around late 2000 early 2001, then Loki Games picked it up and unfortunately the timing was bad, they released a linux demo but closed down before we got to see JC denton on a Nix platform leaving it on consoles and windows.

however in November we got a really awesome surprise, Adam Jensons's new title Deus Ex Mankind Divided was ported to linux over Mac! what a shocker that is.

he's no JC denton but we finally got that Deus Ex on linux title we were promised, I'll let you guys know how it is once I finish playing it  Big Grin

  Google Docs
Posted by: Darth-Apple - June 22nd, 2017 at 1:24 AM - Forum: Creative Writing - Replies (6)

Anyone tried it?

I tried it recently because I didn't have Word on my Mac, libreoffice wasn't available, and i couldn't find any alternative that wasn't complete garbage. I get word through Citrix from university, but it runs on a virtual machine from a server and has terrible lag. Not really worth it.

I gotta say Google Docs is d*** good. Far better than Libreoffice and it's web based!

Anyone else tried it? What are your thoughts? If you haven't tried it, go try it now. Tongue
