New Mechkeybo

#1
I bought a new mechanical keyboard. The Vortex Race 3, to replace my Pok3r.

Something that I really liked about my Pok3r was using FN + I J K L as arrow keys, so I've programmed this one to do it too and now I'm in love.

Love the look!

What's the big difference feel-wise for mechanical keyboards?

It depends on the type of mechanical switch you get. This one has Cherry MX Blues, so there's a bit of a tactile "bump" as you push down, and when you hit that bump point there's a satisfying clicky sound. It just feels great to type on.

@ thomas, that's why I like using IBM model M keyboards at work and home lol, not only is it the original "clicky" keyboard but they're heavy and nigh indestructible.

I just love mech-keyboards Cool

Keyboards have gone backwards I feel. Just look at the new macbook keyboards... I can definitely type faster on a desktop mechanical keyboard any day.

Nice keyboard, love the look!

It's just a "CyberPowerPC Gaming Keyboard" - There's no model number on it or anything.  Confused

It's the one shown here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2sThPiZuXgg

Yeah, a lot of the newer keyboards, I feel like they miss keystrokes and elicit a lot more mistakes. I like the clicky-clicky ones.

Ah hell. Confused

I guess I still don't get it. It has a pronounced 'clickiness' to it.

Guardian, doesn't mean it's not a good keyboard man, a sturdy keyboard is a good keyboard really, better than those d*** gummy keys apple likes to use...

I returned this keyboard. I didn't like it as much as my Pok3r, shown here

@ guardian, I've actually got one of the old I-Mac G3 Apple keyboards from back when they were halfway decent to use Finna

How is it now?

Back then there wasn't much to compare it to.

Actually it's not bad, and the side usb is handy since I only need one for the mouse

The new retro sales pitch: iMac keyboards.

I could see people going crazy for them. It's Apple.  Tongue
