Your opinion on mainstream pop |

So, I've seen more and more music videos with 200+ million views pop up on my youtube recommendations. I like some of the songs that are out there, but to be honest, they all feel a bit too mainstream to me. I mean, I feel like (generally speaking) every massively popular artist out there right now either writes about beer or something along that lines, or about something love related. Considering I work at a restaurant where popular music is playing constantly throughout every single shift, I think I've had my fill of it. I prefer to listen to and to support less popular indie artists these days. I'm somewhat inspired by a lot of them to some degree.
What is your opinion on pop music? Are their any particular artists that you enjoy listening to?

Online library of native language |

I'm not from an English-centric society and most of India's literature comes from Sanskrit and its daughter languages. Most of India's mainstream languages have their books published and for sale online.
My native language, Assamese, isn't exactly mainstream as people call it, some even dare to call it a subscript of Bengali. (The hell?)
It has very little share of its literature for view online. If someone wants to look up an English book online, just f***ing google it. The same can't be said for Assamese.
Tech students have a lot of scope from this region, but they are either too caught up in their own ambitions or are too scattered to start up something. Nobody would take the initiative without backing first.
My idea is that I want to create a central platform, something of a Dictionary of Assamese books and Literature, where we can list as much books as possible, along with the option of e-commerce (possibly) and expert reviews, both in English and Assamese.
This idea wouldn't get far without proper backing and resources.
What do you think of this? Should I give a try on gathering up tech junkies and start or let it get sown without water?

C++ Compiler for Win7 64-bit |

The title should explain, but anyway.
I've got a C++ compiler, everything runs sort of all right, but the EXE files compiled cannot be executed because of the 64 bit architecture.
Could I be pointed to something that could solve my predicament?

I'm totally horrible at writing introductions, and I tend to not reveal all about myself in one go.

Guess the movie(s) in 5 words |

In 5 words or less, describe the plot of a movie and the next user has to guess which movie it is... And after they guess, it's their turn to describe a new movie, and so on, to keep the game going.
Let's start:
Spider turns geek into superhero.

MyBB 1.8 Beta 3 was just released today. That means that the final release for 1.8 is very, very close, so there isn't a whole lot of time to waste at this point as far as prep. Of course it's not imperative that a forum be upgraded immediately, but I don't want to delay too much considering MyBB 1.8 adds some much needed improvements, and I'm beyond excited for it. They didn't exactly overhaul anything, but 1.8 is full of a lot of neat changes that add plenty of minor feature additions and modernize things quite a bit, so it's definitely going to be a great update for the community.
As for what's planned, I'm actually going to try hard not to do a total theme overhaul again. I've done enough of those already, and have probably annoyed you guys a few times in the process. Of course with 1.8 having a number of improvements built in, the forum, once converted, will also carry some of those improvements. I will have to port our current theme to 1.8 from scratch, so not everything will be ported perfectly. At this point, if all goes well, you can expect a slightly polished and improved version of our current design. Some major plugin cleanup will take place as well to bring more stability to the forums also. (If you're annoyed with the status updates bugs or the fact that the number of alerts displays in the forum title with no alerts link, this may be good news for you! )
Anyway, what would you like to see for Makestation? All suggestions regarding our conversion to MyBB 1.8 will be read and considered! Also, this thread will serve as the official questions thread as prep moves on. I obviously don't know the full details yet since they haven't released MyBB 1.8 officially yet, but prep work has begun.
