I've been struggling with it pretty heavily lately, thanks to a girl Sad  It's a pretty rough thing to go through.

  CSS Expandable Menu

I'm not trying to advertise here. I just want to show you guys something I'm particularly proud of on my very bland website.
Link to Website

The side menu on the left uses no Javascript whatsoever. It's all done with CSS and I think it really shows how powerful CSS can be for functionality rather than just design. Check out the source and see how it's been done!

  n00b math hypothesis

There's this thing going around my head.

Is it possible of any circle C(O, r), an arc of say 'L' units can approach a straight line when the radius 'r' nears infinity?

Observing that any arc of length 'L' becomes closer to a straight line as radius 'r' increases.

  Tablets
Posted by: Darth-Apple - January 15th, 2015 at 6:20 AM - Forum: Technology & Hardware - Replies (5)

I'm still playing around with mine, and now I'm just starting to really make good use of it. I have my galaxy tab 3, which is pretty nice for the most part. It's a little shy on the RAM, which makes it difficult for certain things when it comes to working with several apps at once, but besides that, it's pretty nice. I've gotten almost all of this semester's textbooks as ebooks and saved hundreds of dollars as well.

Unfortunately, I need wifi to do anything, but that's not a huge deal. It's definitely proven useful so far, and it's way easier to use and to carry around than a full laptop.

Anyone else here use tablets? If so, what tablet do you personally use?

  The movie discussion thread
Posted by: Darth-Apple - January 12th, 2015 at 2:28 AM - Forum: Media & Entertainment - Replies (29)

So this thread will serve as the official thread for discussing movies here on MS. I haven't watched too many movies lately, but I still have $15 on my google play gift card to use on some movies, and am looking for suggestions. I watched the good lie today, and have to say, it was a pretty good movie. Much better than the last movie that I had watched (Noah, for which I made a thread for.)

What movies have you guys watched lately? Have any suggestions on how I should spend my 15 dollars on google play? Tongue

Lightbulb We need some "wordsmithing"
Posted by: Sick - January 2nd, 2015 at 12:47 AM - Forum: Creative Writing - Replies (4)

So we are trying to find a replacement motto for our community. We've used "Progression over personal gain" for about 3+ years and sadly it never really took the way I wanted it to. People misunderstand what it really should mean and as such is problematic.

I love these two:

Good Folks. Good Times. Good Game!

game. revel. evolve.

One of my Guild Masters, who is also an English major says you can't really use "Revel" by itself. :/ This stinks as well I love it the most.

The "Good Times" one... is fun, but cheesy. It does however say EXACTLY what I want.

I really like the idea of a 3 word motto. Something short, succinct and powerful.

Thoughts?
