Cities Skylines Sunset Harbor |

Cities Skylines is releasing a new expansion pack next week. This one will have a lot of addons related to health, water treatment, beaches, and so forth, but most notably, it's going to have above-ground metros for the first time in the game's history.
I'm beyond excited about this one. I can't even begin to describe how many times I have had trouble getting subways through deep rivers, only to end up splitting the network into two separate networks. It will also allow me to build above-ground rails without resorting to passenger trains or monorails (which aren't generally very effective in the game for some odd reason or another).

[Cities Skylines] What is the largest city you have created? |

For me, it was around 180K. I couldn't get past that. I was using 7 tiles, and my poor little computer could not keep up any longer. The frame rate was about 2-3 FPS by the time I finally gave up on it.
What is the largest city you've created in Skylines (or in Simcity)? Please specify which game you are playing when posting!

How important is admin experience when creating a community? |

I'm geniunely very curious and looking for input.
My personal opinion is that admin exerience itself does not necessarily matter. Passion for the communty does, however. Admin experience brings you to have that kind of passion, and being very experienced can even, to an extent, make up for it. And the lack of experience, likewise, can be a detriment.
In other words, you need both passion for your community, and experience (to a lesser extent). If you don't have the experience, it will be harder.
That being said, we have a number of people here who have their own communites @Juneberry, @SpookyZalost, @Guardian. What inspired you guys to get started? In one sentence, what would you say has been the secret to your successs?

[Music] Should you be able to hear the bass? |

I grew up listening to bands like Rush, Triump, and so forth. Progressive rock was always a huge influence for me. In most of these bands, the bass plays a very predominent role and is extremely forthcoming in the mix. This contrasts heavily with more pop-oriented music where the bass guitar is taking a back seat, staying out of the way of the more predominent instruments.
My personal feeling is that it's a waste if the bass guitar isn't being used to its full potential. It's an awesome instrument (and also is my favorite instrument to play). Guitarists tend to play it like a guitar, which isn't quite the way to go about it. Yes, chords are neat, but use them well. Use them like a bass player, play on the on-beat instead of the offbeat, and use it to fill some sonic space that would otherwise have to be filled by other instruments.
And of course, if you have a JBL speaker (those of you who do, you know what I mean), the low end frequencies sound fantastic. Music takes a whole new meaning with a good sound system.

Apple's new Macbook Air |

I briefly owned the new Macbook air briefly after it came out last year. It got stolen, but it was probably the single best computer I ever owned, minus its shortcomings that were hard to ignore. I had to find a good sale on it. It was extremely expensive for what it was. It was a little underpowered for the price. It had a number of issues with the keyboard. It was otherwise extremely sturdy and well built (did not feel cheap), but internally and in terms of specifications, not worth $1200.
As it stands now, it looks like Apple is correcting a number of issues here. The keyboard is a scissor mechanism (finally!), the CPU is about "twice as fast" and has Ice lake processors in it. This is huge. It means more cores, better power efficiency, and d*** good graphics (likely the best we've seen yet in a low powered laptop), all with a small form factor.
If you're a student, you can supposedly get this one for $899. Oh, and the icing on the cake? They are packaging the base models with 256GB of storage.
Looks like Apple finally got some sense on their shoulders. I will be buying this at the very first opportunity. What are your thoughts on this?

Vehicle Jump Boxes |

I have a fairly robust jump box, but my volkwagen jetta has an unusually large ~900 CCA battery for a 2.5 liter engine. I'm often amazed at how it manages to require such a gigantic battery. It's a truck sized battery in a small sedan, with a sedan-sized engine.
The jump box is not powerful enough to jump a dead battery, but if I only left the lights on for a few hours and it has enough to run the accessories, it provides enough boost for the car to get it started. I've long wondered if, however, leaving it connected AFTER jumping the car manages to charge the jump box.
Google doesn't have any answers anywhere for this one. I honestly have no idea. Anyone know if this charges the jump box, or do you have to charge it only using the built in charger? Just out of curiosity on this one...
