  SimCityDefined
Posted by: CapTon - May 25th, 2014 at 5:51 PM - Forum: Other Communites & Promotion - Replies (3)

Hey everyone Smile

SimCityDefined is a site I started working on with a group of buddies about nine months ago. The site officially launched three months later, and it looked like this:

[Image: BZD0OzzCYAAIHpjpnglarge_zps0f4dcb43.png]

Since then, we have grown tremendously. Our site no longer looks like that piece of junk it was (thanks to my absolutely brilliant friends Big Grin), and we have 29 current forum members. Our community is slowly but surely growing.

We are looking for our site to grow so we can expand and add things such as MOTM awards, annual awards, and more.

Our site may not have many active members, but I am always active and I will always respond to a post until our site has a group of active users that post their daily or whenever they get the chance. You can help us get active and started by joining the community and posting Smile.

We have boards that talk about SimCity, Cities XL, Banished, and more!

You can go to the site here: http://www.simcitydefined.com

Join us today Big Grin and know you're always welcome.

  9 lives
Posted by: Frelxr - May 25th, 2014 at 1:30 PM - Forum: Launchpad - Replies (3)

I just thought of this in 30 seconds.
9 movies
9 cats
they all die at the end
each movie is the perspective of one cat

cats don't talk.
but somehow the story gets deep, because you can hear one cat's thoughts in each movie.

do some sick plot twistage with murder and rape and you might have one of the best movies of all time. ... Well, best ... 9 movies?

The moral of the story is that communication is everything and because the cats didn't have it, you see all sorts of drama unfold.

You know, this is just a template of an idea.

BAM! FIRE!
Don't you just love when they do that shit in that show?
It's so awesome it makes me want to cry the tears my baby sitter trained me to hold in...

Anyway. I'm Frelxr. Some dumbass honestly.
No honestly.
But it's okay. If you know, you know.
I try to code. I've tried. I kinda forgot.
So I will dabble here and exercise that

Are you willing to pay extra to support smaller businesses?
Posted by: Darth-Apple - May 23rd, 2014 at 5:00 PM - Forum: Lifestyle - Replies (2)

Are you generally willing to pay extra to support smaller businesses that contribute more to local communities? (E.g. locally owned stores, gas stations, etc...)

Personally, money is tight, but when I'm able to, I make an effort to support smaller companies. It's not always possible, but I like supporting companies that give back locally.

Don't forget to check out our Station Cash Shop! We have nearly 40 badges available to choose from, and up to three will display under your avatar for all of your posts on the forums.

Also, our chat room subscriptions currently are $150 station cash, and we have some additional features such as the the lottery available for some easy quick cash. (I admit, I've used the lottery myself on a couple of occasions. )

What tools do you use to help you design?
Posted by: Darth-Apple - May 19th, 2014 at 5:41 PM - Forum: Web Design & Internet - Replies (13)

It's no secret that I'm more of a backend developer, but when I'm doing frontend development, I tend to get a little lazy and usually design in browser instead of designing the PSD first. Of course that means that what I had originally envisioned and the final product are two completely different designs, but hey, I'll do whatever works. Tongue

Anyway, what tools do you use to help you in frontend design? I find Colorzilla's gradient editor and their chrome addon to be extremely useful in generating gradients and as a general color picker. I'm honestly not quite sure what I'd do without it considering the fact that I'm not good at generating complex gradients in GIMP. I also use bg.siteorigin.com to generate generic patterns for backgrounds and simple tools such as http://border-radius.com/ for when I (shamefully) forget basic CSS. Tongue

What tools would you recommend?
