Do you think Tablets will replace Laptops?
Posted by: Darth-Apple - September 6th, 2013 at 1:21 AM - Forum: Technology & Hardware - Replies (16)

Personally, I think we are still a few years off before that happens, but I wouldn't be surprised. What is your opinion? Will tablets replace laptops?

Don't forget to vote in the poll!

Shane Elmore aka Alcatraz is an 18 year old video game reviewer, commentator and video maker from Indiana. He is sometimes featured with other video makers also. He mostly plays videogames that have simulation, strategy or sci-fi themes. Even though his schedule plans a weekly video, he may put out more than one video a week.

  New Theme
Posted by: Darth-Apple - September 5th, 2013 at 10:15 PM - Forum: Announcements - Replies (15)

Makestation is now running a brand new theme, with a much improved look and feel. We will be working on some improvements for the theme very shortly, but the new theme at this point is still significantly improved over the older theme.

The older theme is still available for those who want it, under "Landscapes". Feel free to leave any feedback, ideas, and suggestions in this thread. Also, stay tuned for further updates of some of the exciting things we have planned! Big Grin

Enjoy! Big Grin

  [Fiction] The History of Makestation
Posted by: Acko - September 5th, 2013 at 9:53 PM - Forum: Creative Writing - Replies (19)

Welcome to the history of Makestation. This "history" is not meant to represent the history of Makestation in a completely accurate way, rather as a satire of the real history by spicing it up to look like real history. References to OTL history are marked with a "pseudo-superscript", or something like below:

Quote:The area now known as Makestation(^1)
So here we go, with...
PART ONE - CONQUEST (1248)
The area now known as Makestation(^1) was previously inhabited by pagan Creatic(^2) tribes. However, in Spring 1248, King Blake of Simmania(^3), with an entire demesne's worth of an army, began the 'Crusade of Creatia(^4)' and pushed hard into this area, eventually conquering the entire coast after only a mere month. Following this successful expedition, he proclaimed himself 'Grand Duke of Makestation(^5)'. In the beginning, Makestation was very centralized for a feudal realm, being under the jurisdiction of one ruler and under one title. However, in July, the burden of ruling the pagans was simply too much for the Grand Duke, so he decided to grant the title 'Grand Duke of Makestation' to Link, a powerful noble of Simmania.

References to OTL history:
1: OTL Sweden
2: OTL Finns
3: OTL King of Simmania
4: OTL Second Swedish Crusade
5: Grand Duke of Finland

References to actual Makestation history (Incomplete ATM):
Link, in reality a Moderator, was given this status in early July, after a camping trip of Blake's. This is represented here by simply just giving him the title Grand Duke.

  New points system
Posted by: Darth-Apple - September 4th, 2013 at 4:15 PM - Forum: Announcements - Replies (6)

Several members have recently suggested that we add a "points" or "money" system to Makestation. Until now, it was difficult to implement. Today, the most recent version of newpoints has now been installed, and we have a brand new point system. We also have installed a "lottery" which is a great way to win some extra points. (I'm not exactly sure how this will work, but feel free to give it a try. "Tickets" aren't that expensive. Tongue )

We are working on finding some awesome ways to implement this in the near future. If you have any ideas, don't hesitate to post them here! We have some awesome things planned. Also, don't forget to check out the statistics and the lottery! Big Grin

  Android vs. iPhone
Posted by: Darth-Apple - September 2nd, 2013 at 2:50 AM - Forum: Technology & Hardware - Replies (80)

Personally, I have to say that I prefer the androids. The iPhones are very nice, but they are also expensive and seem to be less flexible overall than the androids, so I feel like the android is overall a better option.

What is your opinion?
