The Political Compass

It's definitely an interesting test I'd recommend to anyone. I scored out as being slightly upper-left wing.

I scored about the same place on the compass, but I'm very slightly upper wing instead. Seems like we're pretty much in the same camp.

Socialist would go more up than left. Left is more liberal socially. Socialist is more fiscally authoritarian.

whatever is best for the people, determined by the people via majority, with the most skilled and best qualified in charge.

That's always subjective though. Who determines this? Depending on personal politics this could skew in many directions. Democratic Socialists of 1930's Germany thought this guy to be Hitler, 1930's Chinese Communists thought this person to be Mao Zedong, while 1900's pro-Independence Indians thought his person to be Mohandas Ghandi.

It could go many ways.

eh I don't like the idea of a singular leader, I like the idea of a council of experts with the president mainly being a specialized diplomat who works with other nations.

The problem is the 'majority' has proven incapable of selecting these experts/representatives that have their best interest in mind.

that's why I think the council of experts (each one overseeing something relating to their skillset), should be determined in a neutral non-biased way based purely on capability.

it's not perfect, but it's better than letting one person control the entire country, especially given how some of our leaders have been over the years.

Maybe this concept needs a charter, and can be applied to the Moderns faction.

I'll stick with my wild west ways for the Ancients.  Cowboy
