  Bronies
Posted by: NightShadow - November 29th, 2013 at 3:46 PM - Forum: Media & Entertainment - No Replies

What do you think about the brony fandom? Are you for or against it?

Here's what a brony is according to Whatisabrony.com:

Quote:A brony is a fan of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic that is outside the target demographic of little girls. First impressions might be that bronies are creepy or gay, however that's a typical misconception. Most bronies are friendly teenagers and young adults that simply aren't afraid to admit that they enjoy a show that is innocent, colorful, and funny.

The latest rendition of My Little Pony is much different than the previous generations most people associate the title with. This show has a fresh, modern look, and tells fun stories that people of all ages can enjoy. Not to mention the show is amazingly well-made and showcases a massive amount of talent ranging from voice artists, to writers, to music composers, and much more.

What began as a simple internet meme has turned into a massive global fanbase. This website was created with the hope that it would answer any questions you may have, as well as help settle any confusion as to what exactly bronies are.

I am one myself, and honestly, it's a great fandom, everyone's friendly and love to chat about the show, unlike some sites I've been on LOL.

So, who's going out to catch black friday deals?

So, who's going out for this black friday?

Personally, I probably will take a look and see if anything catches my eye, but I won't be getting up at 3AM just to catch deal.

It's an Ohio-based anime club that talks about and watches anime, plays videogames (including our Team Fortress 2 server), and more. A convention over in Ohio is also planned by 2015. The site is in beta but feel free to check it out.

  Undercover Boss?
Posted by: Darth-Apple - November 24th, 2013 at 4:00 AM - Forum: Media & Entertainment - No Replies

I've been watching undercover boss quite a bit lately. It's an interesting show, but the one thing I don't understand is how the general public doesn't recognize their whole employee competition for reality show thing. To me, that's a bright flag that undercover boss is going on. Tongue How do they pull it off? I don't know. Tongue

Either way, it's a great show. Anyone else been keeping up with it?

  Spotify
Posted by: Darth-Apple - November 20th, 2013 at 3:59 PM - Forum: Media & Entertainment - Replies (6)

So I recently discovered spotify, a music streaming service. I've really liked it so far, although I don't plan on heavily using it because I also like supporting artists by purchasing their music. (Plus I tend to listen to music on a CD or MP3 player instead of a PC anyway. )

Either way, it does seem like an interesting service. Anyone else here use spotify?

Do you create designs to cater to lower screen resolutions?
Posted by: Darth-Apple - November 20th, 2013 at 3:55 PM - Forum: Web Design & Internet - No Replies

While it is always a good idea to try to create a web design to aim at looking good on an average size screen, you can never really predict what your users are going to be using. You can pretty much safely assume that they won't be using anything earlier than IE 6 and will at least be using an 800x600 screen, but hey, that puts quite a few limits on what you can do with a design! Tongue

Personally, I try to aim for a design that looks best with screen widths of around 1280 to 1920, and try to create designs that are fully supported in monitors with a 1024x768 resolution as well. Anyone using a monitor with a lower resolution than 1024x768 probably doesn't expect most websites to really look decent anyway. Tongue

What do you normally aim for in your web designs?

Personally, I don't very often, although every now and then I will.

How often do you travel during the holidays?

  Bug Fixes
Posted by: Darth-Apple - November 14th, 2013 at 6:19 PM - Forum: Announcements - Replies (8)

As many of you have already noticed, there have been a quite few theme related bugs and issues that have been occurring over the past week ever since the theme update, as well as javascript related issues, causing problems with the post editor, shoutbox, and more. Yes, a jquery conflict literally went by me for a full week without me noticing. Tongue I just resolved the jquery conflict issues, and will be working hard on fixing the remaining theme related glitches over the next few days. I do apologize for the inconvenience there.

Anyway, if you notice any bugs that haven't been reported yet, please feel free to report them below, and I will look into the issue promptly. Any bug reports will be greatly appreciated!

  Obamacare
Posted by: Darth-Apple - November 13th, 2013 at 9:50 PM - Forum: Current Events - Replies (4)

So the news continues regarding the new, poorly designed healthcare.gov website, and many people are still quite frustrated with all of the fine print terms and conditions that will leave many people without health insurance. To be honest, to fine people because of the inability to pay for insurance leaves ethical concerns and isn't a real improvement at all.

To be honest, the more I hear about Obama care, the more I'm beginning to be a bit skeptical of it. What is your opinion on the affordable care act? Be sure to vote in the poll!
