I love it vanilla Gnome 40 and GNOME Shell. The only extension I absolutely need is the Hot Edge extension (https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/4222/hot-edge/). With this I can just move my mouse to the bottom of the screen to access the overlay, and therefore the dock. I use plan old Adwaita too :p
