Personally, I'm not too much of a gamer, but when I do play games I prefer to play PC games. What's your preference?

PC Gaming is much better. Moddable, and not everything's proprietary and closed.
I mod Paradox games. Click here to see my many adventures in doing that.

I prefer PC. But in consoles, I like PS3, and perhaps PS4. I honestly hate Xbox.

The XBOX 360 uses insufficient soldering for the CPU that caused a lot of problems in many game consoles. It's not even a very high quality console.

Note that PS3/PS4 also includes support for linux. Which is a big plus in my opinion.

I actually love both.
I grew up playing PC games, so I will always have a soft spot for PC games. Lately I am starting to play Xbox games and so far I really loved these games.

Speaking of the xbox one, I believe it is still upcoming at this point, and we shall see if it's any good. I still like the fact that the PS4 can run Linux though.
Either way, I will always prefer PC games myself as well.

I find that interesting that the PS3/4 includes Linux support. That alone would be enough for me to get a PS4.

I dunno... why would you use a console if you don't use it for gaming, just linux?

Well if you're gonna spend the money, you might as well get the functionality with it.

Console games definitely have a more "gamelike" feel, which is one of the nice things about them.

You can play many games on PC with a gamepad (a 360 one). I find it horrible using a keyboard for certain games, so I use a gamepad whenever I can.

I prefer to play PC games. Why? You ask.. Well, the reasons are simple. Let me begin by saying that I do NOT have to keep purchasing each gaming console just to play X, Y, and Z. All that I have to do is upgrade my CPU, graphics card, or add a couple more GB of RAM. My current gaming PC has an Intel i7 processor, a great graphics card by Nvidia (not the higher-end ones, but it still displays amazing graphics), and 8GB of RAM.
I think I'm prepared for any game that comes out for a year or two. Every game that I have downloaded from Steam works without an issue. Another reason why I prefer PC to Consoles is that I can download my game as soon as it becomes available. Joe from down the road will be waiting a day or two to run to the store just to get a copy of Call of Duty Ghosts, while I'm already "gaming it up" on my PC after finishing the download last night. Yeah. Poor little Joe. I think there are online stores and digital downloads for consoles now, so that might be a plus for console users. Wait! I'm not done yet. Steam is an amazing program that allows me to connect with gamers from around the world. I can add someone as a friend, or they can add me as a friend. It's like a FaceBook for gamers, however, it's better. With Steam, friends can party up with each other as soon as each player comes online (you're not required to enter the game - it starts up as soon as you turn on your PC). Instant message, voice chat, you name it. |
