I've been fed up with Windows too and have been meaning to setup linux Mint back on my old laptop. The biggest impediment has been my laziness. 
I said I was going to do it late last year and haven't done it since then. I guess I am waiting for that 'straw that broke the camels back' before I do it. Not religious about it, but I definitely love it.
