Nowdays you can get 2012 models for less than what I paid, and you can get one that's brand new for about $800 (or less sometimes) if you are smart and know where to look for good deals.
Then again you're probably good at making Hackintoshes so it's probably no need for you anyhow.

Unix is such a powerful backend, it's like using carbon fiber for support instead of iron (windows).
this is why I applaud apple's choice in OS because the backend is so familiar for a linux user like myself.
I may look into getting something like a 2012 model... but ideally I'd like to find a tower unit that I can just add to my existing setup with the HDMI monitors, USB keyboard and trackball mouse and ethernet.
if you have any screenshots of the new mojave features though I'd love to see them
I know it's really retro but my favorite Mac OS interface is still this one
