What OS does your VPS or dedicated server run? Why does it?
Mine has Ubuntu Server 13.10. While I don't like the choices Canonical has made with Ubuntu recently, they make a nice server OS (widely used, software somewhat up-to-date, plus I love Upstart cause it's so much easier to code with than initscripts.)

I'm using Ubuntu 12.04 server currently. I'd honesty prefer to use Debian, but it's not worth reinstalling at this point.
Their server OS line is much better than their line of desktop operating systems for sure.

The operating system (OS) for a VPS or dedicated server can vary depending on the hosting provider's preferences, customer requirements, and compatibility with specific applications. Commonly used OS options include Linux distributions like CentOS, Ubuntu, or Debian, and Windows Server. Providers usually choose these OSes due to their stability, security features, and compatibility with a wide range of software and applications. Ultimately, the choice depends on the user's preferences and the specific needs of their website or application.

I'm using AlmaLinux for my home server. It's based on RHEL more or less, ever since the RHEL / CentOS fiasco.
