Sure, I mean dwarf fortress does it now with the unmodified version, there's the original Rouge where the term Rouge-like originated, there's privateer of course, all good games but some of the best ASCII artwork originated on BBS servers back in the day where they did all sorts of tricks with it.
also there's TUI or Textmode User interfaces.
think GUI but everything is ASCII graphics.
