I actually still trust craigslist more than a lot of fly by night dealers on the side of the road ONLY because if you actually manage to find a legitimate seller, they know more about the car than some random dealer that just bought it from auction will. But there is definitely some shit out there. It's all unregulated, so it's really up to you to protect your own a**.
