Since my wife and I are about to have a baby I started to look into baby monitors. Those things are expensive! However, I found out that I could build a baby monitor with a raspberry pi and program it with a camera and mic for cheaper than a good one from a manufacturer.
Have you programmed or have interest in using a Raspberry Pie for anything?

I've made everything from a light switch to a wifi jammer!
there's just so much potential in them.
just remember, get the pi3 if you want full motion video, the other pi's don't have the power to do more than take stills with the camera module.
