Often it's because of a bunch of legal stuff they refuse to disclose, or something weird like that. The music industry needs work. I usually try to keep my CDs somewhere just in case something like that happens, but I'm really good at letting my CDs get scratched too. Maybe I should just put all of my songs on a private folder on dropbox or something so that I can't lose them.
