Sometimes, LCDs look so real they look fake. Does that make sense? RE: MP3s vs CDs - Darth-Apple - June 28th, 2017 Imma say go back to the good 'ole classic CRTs RE: MP3s vs CDs - SpookyZalost - June 28th, 2017 CRT's are great right? such high video refresh rates 120 htz easy before it was a thing lol. now I sorta want a 1080p CRT RE: MP3s vs CDs - brian51 - June 28th, 2017 I am forgetting now what CRT's were exactly, sorry ? RE: MP3s vs CDs - SpookyZalost - June 30th, 2017 in a way they were superior to our LCD's however the technology of the time couldn't really take advantage of their theoretical frame rate limits, once again analog > digital in this case. RE: MP3s vs CDs - SpookyZalost - July 24th, 2019 Going to dig this one up. MP3's are the standard, but inferior to OGG and FLAC. in our post modern era, I want to play music in RAW format recorded to storage crystals or MDiscs which have shelf lives in the thousands of years. something I can slot in and have it be read by a laser. something like this. RE: MP3s vs CDs - Thomas - August 17th, 2019 Nowaday's it's obviously mp3s. I'm all about that flac life though. RE: MP3s vs CDs - SpookyZalost - August 17th, 2019 MP3's may be the standard but just wait until a better format comes along... I hear AAC, FLAC, and OGG are equally popular I'm a vorbis guy myself. RE: MP3s vs CDs - SpookyZalost - August 17th, 2019 I know Still I prefer it over FLAC audio quality wise. RE: MP3s vs CDs - brian51 - August 18th, 2019 I just follow your advice in these kinda tech matters , Spook RE: MP3s vs CDs - SpookyZalost - August 23rd, 2019 @ Brian: MP3 is fine for most things, FLAC and OGG/Vorbis are higher quality but less used formats and ideal for like recordings or getting crystal clear audio. but the difference is so small most people wouldn't notice lol. RE: MP3s vs CDs - Thomas - August 24th, 2019 OGG/Vorbis realistically isn't used for getting crystal clear audio. Vorbis is lossy like MP3s. FLAC is lossless and is the best encoding solution when space isn't a concern. RE: MP3s vs CDs - SpookyZalost - August 24th, 2019 the future in reality is raw bits without needing a codec lol. crystal discs with bits suspended in 3D tracks |
