Personally, mine tends to be very inconsistent, but I tend to average 1-2mbps download speeds nowadays. It has thankfully been improving lately, considering I used to get around 0.6mbps just two weeks ago. Perhaps the cable company is making some upgrades.
What are yours?
Not very good.. 3/1. (that's 3Mbps download and 1Mbps upload)
Bright House Networks Turbo Internet, Carmel, IN:
20Mbps Download/24Mbps Max (usually 9-15Mbps)
2Mbps Upload (around the promised speed)
Finally, I'm not the only one with ridiculously slow internet
Mine went back down to about 0.6 mbps. Just when my hopes went up the cable company decided to give me more problems. Oh well.
I went down to 0.25 mbps at one point
What ISP do you use? 0.25mbps is pretty slow, for sure.
Its not the ISP. Its the 100 year old copper wire the information tries to run through.
Ah, well that explains it then
We have copper in our area, but since I'm in a newer area, it's not as bad. Bell in some areas is intalling Fibre networks, including fibre to the home. That delivers speeds up to 175mbps. That'd be... drool.
175mbps would be pretty awesome. Maybe I could actually download files that are 100mb in size without it taking like three hours
In South Korea, people can get a 2 gbps speed!
Google fiber gives you 1gbps down and up, except it's only available in Kansas City atm :|
24.65 mb/s down, 5.24 mb/s up. Pics or it didn't happen:
Nice upload speeds there. FiOS is where it's at.
Here's mine:
That's a pretty rough internet speed there. How long does it usually take on average to load webpages?
I think it is a bit misleading because even a intense site with lots of data only take 10 seconds. :/
But still >1 MB/s is horrible especially when I live less than 5 km away from the CBD of a State Capital
