So far, Makestation is about 2 1/2 months old, and we've grown considerably since launch. At our current rate of growth, we will likely hit 5,000 posts by the end of this month, which will be a great milestone for the community.

Some things are obviously still being tweaked after the conversion to MyBB. Because we are using our own custom theme, a few bugs are still being fixed here and there, although we are working to make the theme more polished and a lot of progress has been made. Rank images have also just been replaced with more polished rank images, thanks to a template made available at http://demonate.com/thread-1106.html . Some of the awesome things that are planed this month include

* A Facebook page (suggested by wasi90lk)
* A brand new homepage and portal
* New promotion resources (as suggested by tehaco, footer images will be designed very soon. )
* An improved postbit design. (We are going to polish a few things and get the CSS button designs finished. )
* The announcement of the most epic contributor award winners.
* Many new badges (currently being designed)
* And more

Obviously, these changes won't occur overnight, but work is continually being done to polish and improve things here at Makestation, and we hope to have some exciting things to come by the end of this month.

So... any feedback, ideas, or suggestions? Feel free to bring up your own ideas and suggestions as well. This thread will serve as our first open community discussion. I'd like to have these every two months or so as a way of discussing the community's direction as well as any ideas that might be on the table.
These are some great updates. I'm really looking forward to the improved postbit design.
What about a cool hover effect for the logo and some custom smilies? Smile
That's a pretty good idea. I'll look into some smilies this afternoon, and we'll probably have an improved hover effect for the header for the upcoming theme update.
These sound like some really great updates!
Thanks for the feedback everyone!

The progress on the theme update is going nicely. We are have cleaned up a few things that were not really finished originally in the theme, and the new postbit designs are also going along as planned. We should have the theme update up and running in a few short days, which will hopefully fix a few bugs and glitches and bring a better design to Makestation.

Some of the other things that have been discussed are also still in progress. We'll have better ranks and smilies very soon, and some other great things to come. Big Grin
Awesome. Looking forward to it!
PS: Are you planning to fix this on the theme's next version?
http://prntscr.com/1kghhg
Yeah, there seems to be something wrong with the CSS in the toolbar for some browsers. The toolbar will be much improved in the update, which should be coming in a few days.

What browser are you using?
Chrome, latest version.
Alright, thanks. I'll get the toolbar fixed for the theme update.

Hey, what does "Manager" mean under "admin" in your profile??
It was there to test the development of a plugin that allows us to put badges under user's profiles. It doesn't mean anything in particular yet. All of this will be fixed in the next few days, once the theme update is released.

UPDATE: The update is now progressing very nicely. I was able to make a significant amount of progress making a new design for the board index, and now it's just a matter of fixing a few bugs and that part of the process will be done. Also, we have a new postbit design and most buttons are now CSS based. Of course these changes won't be live until I flip the switch from the backend, but worry not. That will be happening very soon.

Tomorrow will primarily be spent tweaking a few things and fixing some bugs that will finish the work on the theme update. The toolbar will be fixed as well, and we will hopefully get the theme update released either tomorrow night or Monday afternoon.

Thanks again for the feedback everyone! It definitely does help since I don't notice every bug there is to be found in the theme on my own. If you notice any more bugs or things that look out of place, or just have a general suggestion for what you'd like to see, please post your feedback here, and I will take a promptly!
