You can still use it for things that are too embarrassing to go on the Discord  .

eh, IRC is a bit old hat isn't it?

plus there's all the *************** [REDACTED] and ************* [censored] going on.

It may be old hat but I still use it as my main way to talk to some people, and it's always nice to have multiple platforms for communication open, isn't it? And besides, it's far simpler (and anyone can make their own IRC server!), handy for talking about "stuff".

The nostalgia of it all is nice too. Ajax chat is that way too. Discord obviously far outperforms it, but the sentiment of the older IRC and Ajax Chat options still bring back memories. It's nice.

And plus, the internet has gone too modern on some things. 5MB pages that take forever to load and bombard the user with notifications?That's insane. And that's become the norm. More complex is not always better. Eye candy does not equal functionality.

Well you know how I stand on that given I wrote a site in just CSS and HTML 5 lol but yeah I do agree about the nostalgia factor.
