As much crap as it got, I love Fallout 4. The settlement building adds a lot to the game, and mods can make it even better.
After that, I'd have to say Fallout 3. I was never a fan of the top-down versions. I love the open-world versions.
...oh, and I must add:
Fallout 76 is a heaping pile of garbage and I will never buy online-only games. Have a nice day Bethesda.

I would have to agree with Guardian on this. I Loved 3 and 4. 4 being my favourite because I spent some serious time kitting out some camps.
