Fruit anyone?

#19
I got some Blueberries too! Well, the bushes... we only get so many of the berries before the bears get them.

I tried to grow a bush here, sadly the soil is too alkaline so the plant didn't grow any fruit without heavy soil modification, but climate wise it works fine.

we have a lot of interesting fruit to chose from here in Florida..

there is quite an interesting variety of " tropical fruits".. So I still have not even tried yet even though I have lived here for 48 years now..

Tried some interesting ones a week or so ago. Kiwano and Dragonfruit. Dragonfruit is alright, but Kiwano is.... interesting. Not necessarily in a good way.

The last dragonfruit I saw was like $6 each, so yeah no.
Kiwano on the other hand is so spiny you can't even handle it, so I don't think I'd try that either :o)

The Dragonfruit was only $1. I wouldn't have gotten it if it were more.

The Kiwano, you're not missing out.

I'm getting back into smoothies also. The past couple of times I combined strawberry and bananas with strawberry flavored protein powder... it's actually better than it sounds Tongue

meh I think I'll stick with blueberry pancakes made with blueberries fresh from my bushes... at least now that I've figured out how to adjust for the overly alkaline soil out here.

fresh fruit now-a-days with all the tariff tax issues running around is getting a bit expensive...of course it all depends on where you live. if you got lots of money, spend on organic.
