Just finished planting my "orchard." It's small, but I'm proud of it.

Backbreaking work!

awesome! I still have to wait a bit before planting season here but I've got some cantalope and honeydew melon seeds to plant this year that I'm excited for...

only problem is the soil out here is super alkaline and my family who was growing the garden before me only got small returns... luckily, I took botany as an elective in high school. Cool

so once I PH test the soil (I also need to modify the planting beds slightly... stupid rats because stupid development of nearby field.)  I should be able to modify it to be more suitable.

Ugh, they're one of the few things I haven't been able to get growing yet. Melons are... very specific in their soil type.

indeed, that's why I'm super glad I studied botany lol, tons of useful info there on how to grow stuff
