Updated Look. What do you guys think?

#1
As you've probably noticed, and as I'm excited to bring to you, we have our updated look and feel as of today! I've spent the last couple of weeks trying to unearth my hiatus and uncover the vaults of some CSS and HTML knowledge. Rather than do a massive update, I'm having a beta period where we update the site as we go during April.

During March, some of the things that were added/updated include:
  • New look and feel (based on the old one with some improvements and brighter colors)
  • Bug fixes on the forum index related to the most recent post.
  • New emojis (Click on "get more" in the post editor)
  • New sidebar with latest posts, today's top poster, quotes from the community, etc.
The sidebar, as requested before, can be disabled from the user control panel if you have a smaller monitor! Go to user CP -> edit options (on the side panel), and there will be a "show side boxes" check box.

Hope everyone enjoys what has come so far! What do you guys think?

I loved the last colors, but this one feels nice too. Just take me a minute to get used to it. Tongue

Keep them coming!

Honestly I think the site still looks great, with the occasional update keeping things fresh I've no complaints that's for sure.

Yea, I've gotten used to the subtle visual changes, and have to like them. I like the subtle changes rather than a massive overhaul.

Still love that old blue, so I love having it as an option though.

There's always a possibility we might go back towards that scheme. For the time being I wanted to bring out some more vibrant colors to appear a little softer and more welcoming, so we gave these ones a try. I've been toying with the idea of ditching blue altogether sometime down the road. Believe it or not MS has not always been blue! Tongue

The Simcity section actually has a green color scheme instead of a blue one in case anyone hasn't noticed. A little easter egg for that section of the forum.

I've noticed. Throws me for a little loop every time. :Tongue

I like it, and the potential of having different looks for different forums. It would take a lot of work though to make it happen across MS, and could potentially turn some people off.

Thank you for the feedback!

And yeah, worry not, we will not be doing this on any of the other sections on the forum. It was time consuming enough just to do the one! Finna

That would pretty much nominate us as the worst forum ever to be in existence. Tongue

Oh god, though, zoned forums would be hilarious. Maybe that's an optional theme? Tongue

Fairly certain a little bit of javascript could actually make that happen... Tongue

It's clean and it loads quickly. Just how I like it. The color scheme could be better, but I'm not complaining.

Goddamn typing in BBCode after 3 years feels weird

Is it just me or does multi-quote not work?
