My Keith Richards tribute guitar build - Hoolio - September 6th, 2013

I spec'ed this and had it made for me

I bought a (new) Road Worn Telecaster
And had the following added
Brass bridge
Worn black scratch-plate
Custom wound pick ups
Strat pick up switch

I love it, it looks like Keith's main Tele. Like his its tuned to open g and has the 6th deepest string removed

5 string open G

(Thats the only way to play the 70's onwards stones stuff)

Ah nice. Big Grin

Nice guitars! I have a stratocaster, which is nice, but the telecaster has a certain sound that no other guitar really has. I'd love to get one sometime. Big Grin

I like the somewhat worn look of them as well. I always love guitars that have a certain vintage look like that.

Yeah you but the road worn models to look... Well... Worn!!!

Haha yes they did. Unfortunately the easiest way to give a guitar that genuine, worn look is probably to go on tour. Tongue
