Shell or not? - Acko - June 12th, 2013

Did any of our linux users learn shell or not? I'm considering learning it, as it looks like it can make my life a whole lot easier. (though I do know how to sudo rm rf /* Big Grin)

Many more recent linux distributions have made it possible to do basic things without the shell, but ultimately no matter how user friendly the distribution is, the shell is a vital part of Linux. I'd recommend learning it if you're seriously considering using Linux for your day-to-day computing.

It's also very helpful if you ever need to set up servers, etc...
