A leader who motivates or a leader who inspires? - Warwick - July 12th, 2014

Yes, there is a difference between inspiration and motivation. Which one do you prefer: a leader who motivates or a leader who inspires?

I'd say a leader who inspires. Inspiration seems more interesting than motivation. Good inspiration motivates naturally.

I agree with Darth Apple on this one Smile.

I agree with Apple too. Leading through inspiration is intrinsically leading through motivation.

honestly I take the old Klingon Proverb.
HoS wej nej vay'vaD; ghaH chaH ghoS 'oH
Roughly translated...
Great men do not seek power; it is thrust upon them

in other words, I don't trust either, rather I trust the guy who's been put there and knows what it's like to be the people he's leading.

I like that, that's a good one!

The reluctant leader.

I'd say a leader who inspires. The difference is that inspiration comes from the inside, whereas motivation comes from the outside... so, inspiration doesn't go away when the leader does!
