Do you guys have a storm system that we don't have?
Hurricanes are considered tropical systems in the trade wind from east to west. Europe, which has a west coast on the Atlantic, is difficult to reach from such storms.
This only works in a roundabout way if the storm first moves west and is then turned north by a front system. As soon as it reaches 40 degrees north, however, the ocean water is usually no longer warm enough to keep the tropical storm alive. In addition, there are often shear winds so far north that tear the storm apart, or convert it to a deep storm.
