Amod for Minecraft is going to be a collection of tweaks that make the game more fun (for me, at least). As MCP for Minecraft 1.6.1 has now been released, the mod is in full development. Here's the (very short!) current list of implemented or planned features (green = implemented; yellow = in progress; red = planned):

*Huge Mushrooms now generate in Forest and Swamp biomes
*NPC Villages no longer generate naturally; However, villager spawn eggs may now be found in spawner chests.
*Biomes generate based on temperature of any nearby biomes (no more deserts next to taigas, swamps, next to tundra.

Here's a small proof of concept release with the current progress:

This mod doesn't require either Forge or Modloader. It is for 1.6. Here's how to install mods with the new launcher: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nb8dd696jiY
Time for an update! Here's a well documented list of all of the current features of the mod:

*Added huge mushrooms to forest and swamp biomes
*Removed naturally-generated NPC villages
*Added a recipe for villager eggs
*Made all biomes more hilly and fun.
*Added lamb meat

Some textures aren't quite finished. Here's the DL link: http://www.mediafire.com/download/hx165l...d_0.0.1.7z
You should probably compile a bug list somewhere. I hope you continue development on this.

That's probably a good idea. I haven't done much bugtesting though. You can also help by reporting bugs if you like. (Currently my main focus is features so far, so it will probably be ignored for a while, sorry)

Changes:
*Added a new boss. Like the Wither, who represents the Nether, this is Gaia, who represents the Overworld! Currently unable to create it though, you have to spawn it with a spawn egg using its entity id. It seems I'll have to do more work to actually register the entity. Next version will be 0.0.2b with the ability to spawn it with spawn eggs.
*This new boss will drop Earth Stars upon defeat. Crafting an Earth Star and a Nether Star together creates a life orb, which can be used to create Villager Eggs.

Regarding the bug list idea, I think instead of cluttering this thread with bug reports, report them at my forum: http://acomines.icyboards.net/ (this is totally not a ploy to get you to register there Tongue)

About the boss gaia... I've been rethinking that feature. It seems to cause a glitch where the wither is instantly killed when created. I think instead of blatantly copying the wither's class files, I'll have to create it from scratch. No big deal though.
And the updates continue! Update 0.1.0 is here. Here's a list of changes:
Code:
*Extreme hills temporarily removed
*Gaia removed permanently
*Better interaction between mobs; For example, spiders are naturally targeted by the other hostile mobs.
*Skeletons attempt to kill Endermen.
Due to the many calculations needed by the AI engine, I recommend you have a good PC to run this. Also, it is recommended you have mobGriefing off, because the number of creepers blowing up can get extreme (the creepers blowing spiders up is actually experimental; Tell me what you think about it).

I hope this isn't considered double posting Tongue
Update 0.1.1. Mainly AI changes:

Code:
*Creepers will no longer blow spiders up
*Added non-functioning quivers
*Slightly shortened the fuse time for creepers
*Creeper explosions are slightly larger

0.2.0 is here! Here's the changelog:
Code:
*Added three new world types:
*Mooshromia: Infinite Mushroom Biome.
*Tropical: Only Jungle, Swamp, and Desert biomes.
*Polar: Only Taiga and Tundra biomes.
*Some other stuff I forgot about

0.3.0! Many changes:
Code:
0.3.0:
-Breeding mooshrooms has a chance of giving you a normal cow.
-Mycelium will slowly overtake any neighbouring grass in Mushroom Islands, and vice versa in plains.
-Made fire harder, faster, stronger.
-Added the ability to craft mossy cobblestone and mossy stone brick. (Using vines)

Soon to come in 0.3.0a:
-Updated localization for many stuff added.

0.3.0: http://www.mediafire.com/download/1kl3y6.../0.3.0.zip
Localization update: (coming soon)

Also, I need textures for these things:
-Raw Mutton
-Mutton Chops
-Life Orbs

They must be 16x16, and should fit Minecraft's pixelated style. If anyone's interested, then pm me!
Very nice project! I just got back into town, so I'm reading back through all of this. Looking forward to further updates. Big Grin
I think this has been the longest time without an update! Tongue That's because I've been at a loss for ideas, already. Coming in 0.4, though is:
-Tree spiders
-A 'Hell' world type, where the only biomes are Nether and Desert
-Obsidian arrows which do 2x times the damage of normal arrows.
-Localization patch.
-(Possibly) SMP version

So please bear with me, as I try to implement these obsidian arrows and SMP support!

-Aco
Very nice ideas. Looking forward to further updates. Big Grin
Instead of releasing 0.4 for 1.6.1, I will release it for 1.6.2, which will release tomorrow. Currently I'm basing the mod off of the 1.6.2 Pre-Release. Also, the mod's name is now 'MiscMods'.
Nice Big Grin
Alright, the new MiscMods for Minecraft 1.6.2 will be a total rewrite. I had not for some reason taken note of every class I edit, and because of this, cannot feasibly port it :/. So now that the mod has a stable list of features, I'll go over them again:

-Removed naturally generating NPC Villages - Redacted.
-Forest and Swamp Biomes now contain huge mushrooms
-All biomes made hillier
-Mutton added
-Gaia, a boss representing the overworld, added
-Gaia drops a Gaia Star, which is used in the crafting recipe for a Life Orb, which, combined with a generic spawn egg, creates a villager spawn egg.
-Generic spawn eggs can now generate in dungeon chests.
Redacted, for now.
-Extreme Hills temporary removed Redacted.
-Better interaction between mobs; Spiders are now attacked by the rest of the hostiles.
-Skeletons attempt to shoot Endermen Redacted.
-Added non-functioning quivers.
-Added three new world types:
-Mooshromia: Infinite Mushroom Biome.
-Tropical: Only Jungle, Swamp, and Desert biomes.
-Polar: Only Taiga and Tundra biomes.
-Stone tools now require Smooth Stone, instead of Cobblestone
-Breeding mooshrooms has a chance of giving you a normal cow.
-Mycelium will slowly overtake any neighbouring grass in Mushroom Islands, and vice versa in plains.
-Made fire faster, better, stronger.
-Added the ability to craft mossy cobblestone and mossy stone brick. (Using vines)
-Added tree spiders which will spawn in large trees.
-Added a 'hell' world type, which only has the biomes Nether and Desert
-Added Obsidian Arrows, which do 2.0x times the damage of flint-based arrows
-Tree spiders, which spawn in large trees
-Localization patch
-SMP Support (0.5!)

Features that are redacted will not appear in MiscMods. Development of MiscMods will begin as soon as Minecraft 1.6.2 is released.
(Is this double posting? Tongue)
Miscmods 1.0.0 is here! This release will still be called Amod 0.4.0 internally. Here's a full list of features inherited from Amod:

Code:
-Inherited these features from the now non-existant Aco's Mod:
-Forest and Swamp Biomes now contain huge mushrooms
-Better interaction between mobs; Spiders are now attacked by the rest of the hostiles.
-Added three new world types:
-Mooshroomia: Infinite Mushroom Biome.
-Added Obsidian Arrows, which do 3.0x times the damage of flint-based arrows, but, are not affected by enchantments.
-"Fixed" giants, gave them the zombie's attributes, made them spawnable ONLY in creative.

This update was a total rewrite of Amod, and in turn, has no new features (yet!). I would like if you do happen to use this mod, try to report bugs on Forumcraft (acomines.icyboards.net). Or pm them here.
Here is a current buglist:
Code:
The Mooshroomia World type sometimes spawns you in an island in an ocean.
In creative mode, if you obsidian arrows in your inventory, instead of firing one type of arrow, the bow will fire both arrow types at the same time.
Giants move waaaaaaaaaaay too fast.

Patch 1.0.1 contains these fixes:
-Added a crafting recipe for Obsidian Arrows.
-Tweaked giant AI a bit.
-Basic framework for SMP support implemented.

Have fun!
-Aco
Time for a progress report. For 1.1.0, I have finished the first working SMP (Survival Multiplayer) version and I am now testing it. I am also thinking of implementing these features:
Shears with fortune give you more wool
Shears have a new crafting recipe (implemented!)
Giants participate in village sieges
Obsidian arrows damage multiple targets in their path.

I am also going to fix several bugs, including:
Giants run too fast
Obsidian arrows are invisible
Other bugs.

I also think 1.1.0 will be a pretty good release Smile. I've got to brainstorm more features now!

-Aco
1.1.0 is still coming... just I haven't found the motivation to actually do any more work. But I assure you guys it's coming Tongue.
